Friday, May 22 and Thursday, June 4 will be regular school days to make up for the two days that Lewisville ISD was closed due to inclement weather in February. These two dates were approved by LISD's Board of Trustees as part of the 2014-2015 Academic Calendar. LISD is seeking a waiver from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the third day, March 5. The last day of school will be Friday, June 5, which will be an early release day for students.
Lewisville ISD (LISD) is asking parents to participate in our House Bill 5 (HB 5) Survey launching Monday, March 16, 2015 and ending Friday, March 27, 2015. Designed and administered by independent technology and communications firm K12 Insight, the survey asks for parent thoughts on how well our schools are performing in a number of important topic areas.

In the event of bad weather, we must consider the safety of all 53,000 students in our 127-square mile district when making decisions about school closures. LISD administrators will determine school cancellations based on the safety of all students district-wide.

Executive search firm Ray and Associates engaged LISD’s staff and community in discussions of important characteristics for potential candidates, as well as suggestions for screening and interview questions. The outreach process concluded on Jan. 29.

Lewisville ISD will recognize former Superintendent Dr. Stephen F. Waddell for his years of service to LISD and Texas public school children on Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 4-6 p.m. at Marcus High School 9th Grade Campus (5707A Morriss Road, Flower Mound). A formal presentation will begin at 5:15 p.m.

At its Dec. 17 Special Board Meeting, the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) Board of Trustees unanimously named Dr. Kevin Rogers as Interim Superintendent as the Board searches for its new Superintendent of Schools. Rogers has served as the district’s Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the past four years.
