Lewisville ISD Bad Weather Make-Up Days

Friday, May 22 and Thursday, June 4 will be regular school days to make up for the two days that Lewisville ISD was closed due to inclement weather in February. These two dates were approved by LISD's Board of Trustees as part of the 2014-2015 Academic Calendar. LISD is seeking a waiver from the Texas Education Agency (TEA) for the third day, March 5. The last day of school will be Friday, June 5, which will be an early release day for students.

LISD House Bill 5 Rating Parent Survey

Lewisville ISD (LISD) is asking parents to participate in our House Bill 5 (HB 5) Survey launching Monday, March 16, 2015 and ending Friday, March 27, 2015. Designed and administered by independent technology and communications firm K12 Insight, the survey asks for parent thoughts on how well our schools are performing in a number of important topic areas.

We want to take time to remind parents that Lewisville ISD (LISD) is constantly monitoring inclement weather situations. In the event of bad weather, we must consider the safety of all 53,000 students in our 127-square mile district when making decisions about school closures. LISD administrators will determine school cancellations based on the safety of all students district-wide.

Lewisville ISD Collects Community, Staff Input on Superintendent Search

LISD's Board of Trustees announced the list of attributes that resulted from public input sessions, focus group sessions and an online survey. Executive search firm Ray and Associates engaged LISD’s staff and community in discussions of important characteristics for potential candidates, as well as suggestions for screening and interview questions. The outreach process concluded on Jan. 29.

Lewisville ISD Superintendent Search Community Input Forums

Lewisville ISD (LISD)’s Board of Trustees invites all parents and community members to participate in community input forums to share their thoughts regarding desired qualities in LISD’s new superintendent. Four English-only forums and one Spanish-only forum will be available. All forums will be led by executive search firm Ray and Associates. You're Invited to Dr. Waddell's Retirement Reception Tuesday, Jan. 20

Lewisville ISD will recognize former Superintendent Dr. Stephen F. Waddell for his years of service to LISD and Texas public school children on Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 4-6 p.m. at Marcus High School 9th Grade Campus (5707A Morriss Road, Flower Mound). A formal presentation will begin at 5:15 p.m.

Lewisville ISD (LISD) is proud to announce its 2014-2015 campus Teachers of the Year. Winners were selected by their peers and are now participating in the LISD Teacher of the Year selection process.

Lewisville ISD Announces Interim Superintendent

At its Dec. 17 Special Board Meeting, the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) Board of Trustees unanimously named Dr. Kevin Rogers as Interim Superintendent as the Board searches for its new Superintendent of Schools. Rogers has served as the district’s Chief Operations Officer (COO) for the past four years.
